For more details on this topic, see Erotic art in Pompeii and Herculaneum. Among the oldest surviving examples of erotic depictions are Paleolithic cave paintings and carvings, but many cultures have created erotic art. A vast number of artifacts have been discovered from ancient Mesopotamia depicting explicit heterosexual sex. The Moche of Peru in South America are another ancient people that sculpted explicit scenes of sex into their pottery. Additionally, there has been a long tradition of erotic painting in Eastern cultures. In Japan , for example, shunga appeared in the 13th century and continued to grow in popularity until the late 19th century when photography was invented. In the early 16th century, the text I Modi was a woodcut album created by the designer Giulio Romano , the engraver Marcantonio Raimondi and the poet Pietro Aretino. An erotic cabinet, ordered by Catherine the Great , seems to have been adjacent to her suite of rooms in the Gatchina Palace.

Edited By David Feldman, J. Wesley Pike and John S. Vitamin D analogs appear able to counter some of the deleterious effects of glucocorticoids on bone cells and other calcium handling pathways and consequently may confer a therapeutic effect in GIO; however, it remains unclear whether active metabolites are superior to cholecalciferol or ergocalciferol in this clinical situation. Overall, clinical studies suggest that bisphosphonates are superior to vitamin D analogs in preventing glucocorticoid-induced bone loss but vitamin D should be regarded as adjunctive therapy in this clinical context.
Publisher Summary This chapter provides an overview of the current understanding of glucocorticoid effects on the skeleton especially with respect to vitamin D metabolism. It also reviews the steroid hormone receptor expression in bone cells with specific reference to glucocorticoid and vitamin D hormones and their interactions. Furthermore, it discusses the clinical aspects of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis GIO and the role of vitamin D metabolites compared to other therapeutic agents in GIO.
The evidence from various randomized trials taken together suggests that patients receiving glucocorticoids, who are at risk of rapid bone loss and consequent fracture, should be actively considered for prophylactic measures that include a vitamin D metabolite. However, based upon the available evidence, firstline therapy would be a bisphosphonate, with vitamin D as adjunctive therapy or second-line therapy.
Moreover, although vitamin D metabolites appear to confer an additional therapeutic effect in GIO, it remains unclear whether the active metabolites are superior to D2 or D3 in this context and further studies are required.

E-H talking pedal I just earlier this evening found out that what I thought was a talking pedal was actually called a Golden Throat. What does a talking pedal do, and how does it work? Is it the same thing as a Golden Throat? They are completely different. The golden throat is a “talk box” like Frampton, Walsh, etc used. It is a speaker driver connected to a tube which goes in your mouth and needs to be miked through a PA to be used.
Your mouth acts as a filter. The Talking pedal is like a big wah wah pedal, but instead of saying “WAH” it says “eee aaaa iiii oooo uuuu” when it is moved, the vowel sounds. It goes in the path between the guitar and amp, much more useable than a talk box. But the talk box can make more different sounds.

Taking a “modern approach to acoustic guitar tradition,” the Ibanez Artwood Series of acoustic instruments has long been a source of pride and a labor of love. Now with the Artwood Vintage Series, Ibanez looks to the past for inspiration in the development of historically influenced instruments.
Hoshino Gakki decided in to make Spanish-style acoustic guitars , at first using the “Ibanez Salvador” brand name, and later simply “Ibanez. This resulted in the so-called lawsuit period. During this period, Ibanez produced guitars under the Mann name to avoid authorities in the United States and Canada. The company has produced its own guitar designs ever since. The late s and early s were an important period for the Ibanez brand. Most Ibanez guitars were made by the FujiGen guitar factory in Japan up until the mid- to late s, and from then on Ibanez guitars have also been made in other Asian countries such as Korea, China, and Indonesia.
Cimar and Starfield were guitar and bass brands owned by Hoshino Gakki. In the s, Hoshino Gakki and Kanda Shokai shared some guitar designs, and so some Ibanez and Greco guitars have the same features. The Greco versions were sold in Japan and the Ibanez versions were sold outside Japan.

And thus, he founded,,,Fleetwood Mac. Back then, when Jimmy Page was barely out of his session musician days and first achieving fame with the soon-to-be-over Yardbirds, Peter Green was the ace, ripping heavy blues player in London, adored by his fans, who saw in Feetwood Mac a band that was more edgy and faithful to the blues than bigger names such as The Rolling Stones.
The song was later covered by Santana and became a worldwide smash. But worse was to come. While Fleetwood Mac carried on, to become one of the biggest bands in the world, Green was diagnosed with schizophrenia, a mental illness commonly characterised by hallucinations and paranoia, and spent time in psychiatric hospitals undergoing electroconvulsive therapy in the mid s. Peter Green, still rocking after all those years Healthier, jovial and chubby like a little blues buddah, Peter Green is still out there playing the blues now.
His place in rock history is undeniable. View Page Peter Green Gear: He reportedly used Fender Twins on Mac recordings…so maybe the Fender Twins with jensens would be a good starting point, also considering the great Fender reverb — Green loved reverb.
